Cusps
are the vertical support ridges along the outer edge of a horse’s molars. There are usually two on each tooth. The prominence of these cusps will determine how much of a point will form at the grinding edge of the tooth. A more prominent cusp makes for a stronger tooth structure but will produce more pronounced points that will need floating.
