My young horse is loosing teeth. What’s
happening?
From the age of 2 years to 5 years your young horse is changing baby teeth to adult teeth. Part of this process includes the baby tooth caps falling out when the adult ones come in.
You may notice a “gap” in your colt’s incisors or find a “cap” laying in his feed bunk.
It is very important for your horse to have this stage of his tooth development followed carefully. Giving him the right help at this time will set the stage for the type of mouth he will have as an adult horse.
